P.S. Since state-level attestation is a complex, time-consuming process, we provide this service only for select states and specific types of documents. However, it's important to note that state-level attestation is mandatory for only a few international countries.
HRD, SHD, and GAD Attestation (Known as State Level Attestation) refer to the authentication processes carried out by specific government departments/ministries in India at State Level.
1. HRD Attestation (Human Resource Development): This attestation is focused on educational documents, ensuring that academic credentials such as certificates, transcript, marksheet are verified for international use.
2. SHD Attestation (State Home Department): SHD attestation is concerned with personal documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, and affidavits. It validates the authenticity of personal information contained in these documents.
3. GAD Attestation (General Administration Department): GAD attestation may involve both personal and educational documents, depending on the state's regulations. It streamlines the process for government-related affairs and ensures the authenticity of the documents.
1. Notary Attestation:
In some states of India, the first step in state-level attestation is notarization. A Notary Public verifies the authenticity of the document and certifies it with an official stamp and signature. This ensures the document is genuine and ready for further attestation. However, this step is not mandatory in all states.
2 .State Level Attestation
After notary attestation, documents are submitted for the State Level Attestation.
A. State Home Department (SHD) Attestation:
The SHD verifies the authenticity of the document, particularly personal information like birth details, marital status, etc. Once verified, the SHD affixes their stamp or seal to the document, confirming its authenticity for official purposes.
B. Human Resource Development (HRD) Attestation:
Educational documents such as degrees, diplomas, and certificates are submitted to the respective state's Human Resource Department (HRD). The HRD department/ministry verifies the academic credentials mentioned in the document, ensuring its authenticity.
Depending on state regulations, university verification may be required to validate the academic credentials. If everything is in order, the HRD affixes their seal or stamp to the document, confirming its validity for international use.
